  1. Stop Giving Up

Achieving your goal weight is never easy – and it is tempting to quit when things get difficult.  Yes, losing weight requires effort and basically, a total life-change…but it is not out of your reach.    Dedication, perseverance and a strong mind-set when going through hard times is what it takes to reach your target weight.

2. Stop Procrastinating

If you don’t want to do something today, the chances are you won’t want to do it tomorrow either. While the prospect of commencing a weight loss program may seem daunting, it won’t be any easier the next day.  Don’t put it off – the quicker you get started, the quicker you will get to your goal.  If the thought of reaching your dream weight seems impossible, perhaps you goal is too ‘big’. Break down your target into smaller increments (e.g. into 3kg ‘lots’) and celebrate every success.

3. Stop being a Victim

We can all be successful if we put our minds to it – so don’t say you don’t have a choice when it comes to losing weight.  We all have choices and often the only thing holding you back is your own thoughts.  Turn your thinking around so you start making decisions that will help you to reach your dream weight.

4. Stop Avoiding

There are so many things we don’t want to do (house cleaning is my pet hate).  We all have a list of stuff we hate doing BUT it doesn’t mean you should avoid doing them.  Sometimes we have to do things we don’t want to, but when you just ‘go ahead’ and get on with it you get an enormous sense of satisfaction.  Avoidance won’t solve the problem – if anything, it just makes it bigger.
