Four Foods That Can Help You Lose Weight

  1. Chilli: The naturally-occuring chemical, capsaicin, is the substance that puts the heat in chilli. The heat that is generated by ingesting chilli can help to speed up your metabolism.  The benefits of chilli is not just restricted to weight loss:  chillis are also packed with antioxidants and immune boosting vitamin C and beta-carotene.
  2. Protein: Including healthy protein–rich foods with each meal and lowering your carbohydrate intake is beneficial for healthy weight loss. Scientists have proven that a higher protein diet keeps you fuller for longer and helps to keep blood sugar levels more balanced, which in turn helps prevent overeating and weight gain.

Green tea:  Drinking a few cups of green tea a day has been found to be effective for assisting with weight loss.   Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.  Researchers believe that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for green teas’ fat-burning effect.  Besides the weight loss benefits, Green tea is rich in antioxidants (known as polyphenols) and may help to boost energy levels.
  2. Apple cider vinegar: The numerous benefits of apple cider vinegar have been touted for decades, with helping to ‘speed up’ weight loss at the top of the list. While the debate still rages as to why it works, many believe it is due its’ role in helping to improve digestion.  A teaspoon in warm water before meals stimulates stomach acid secretion, which means the meal ingested is more effectively digested and absorbed, thus improving the metabolic process.
