Five Reasons to Lose Weight (that have Nothing to do with Fitting back into Your Jeans)

One question that I always ask a new client is ‘What is your main reason for wanting to lose weight?’  Often, I hear the same response and the most common ones are: ‘to feel better’, ‘to look better’, ‘improve my health’, and ‘to fit back into my clothes’.  Getting to your goal weight is worth it for so many reasons, but the five below have nothing to do with how you look in the mirror:

You will sleep better:  Researchers from Chicago University assessed the sleep habits of 390 obese people.  Those who lost only 5% of their weight gained an extra half hour of sleep per night…and the more they lost, the better the quality of sleep.

Your skin will improve:  There is a direct correlation between the debilitating skin condition psoriasis and obesity.  A 2013 study of obese adults showed that when placed on a calorie-controlled diet for 8 weeks, all found an improvement in the severity of their psoriasis.

You may feel less pain:    The problem with being overweight and having arthritis is that the pain you feel is ‘amplified’ due to the extra weight your joints have to carry.  Losing weight takes the pressure of your joints and you will feel as if you have more mobility (and much less pain).

Your libido will improve:  When you lose weight, you feel better about yourself and the boost to your self-esteem can definitely improve your libido.  Not only that, an Australian study carried out in 2011 proved that obese, diabetic men who lost between 5-10% of their body weight not only had an improved libido but also improved erectile function.  I am sure this is all the motivation a man needs to lose weight, right?

You will save money:  Naturally, losing weight means saying good-bye to unhealthy takeaway foods – but this is not the only way you will save money.  Studies have shown that if you are of normal weight, you will have less  sick days from work,  which means fewer visits to the doctor / specialists and less outlay for expensive-obesity related prescriptions (such as blood pressure, cholesterol-lowering and diabetic medications).

No matter what your motivation is to lose weight, The Natural Way can help you do it.  Not only that, once you lose the weight you want, you will keep it off thanks to our exclusive Healthy Living Maintenance program.  Weight loss is not about dieting, it is about making sensible food choices and correcting lifestyle issues to ensure your future is happy and healthy.
