New Weight Loss Drugs are a Health Hazard

Yet again, there is a claim that a ‘revolutionary’ new drug is available to help fight obesity.  However, this time around, rather than the ‘invention’ of a brand new drug, this is simply a combination drug therapy using two quite different medications – one is an appetite suppressant drug and the other an anti-convulsant epilepsy drug.  The crazy thing is that this drug combination was trialled by 103 obese people and while the average weight loss was 13kg (over a 22 month period), 40% of people dropped out due to the unpleasant side-effects (watch video:    https://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/video/watch/24745851/fat-busting-pill-to-be-made-available-in-victoria/?cmp=fb or read the news article here: http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/diet-and-fitness/combination-drug-therapy-could-help-weight-loss-20140817-1052gs.html)

Weight loss drugs have a lot of side-effects

Weight loss drugs have a lot of side-effects

A couple of things about this are totally crazy:  let’s start with the side-effects!  Depression, heart palpitations, insomnia… just to name a few.  The problem with taking any prescribed medication is that there is always some kind of side-effect/s so when you combine 2 drugs, you have a chemical cocktail fraught with problems.  I also find it incredible that an anti-epilepsy drug is being used to treat weight loss.  If a drug is developed to treat a specific condition (such as epilepsy) then it’s no wonder that non-epileptic people are prone to side-effects when they take it for weight loss.  I am sure too, that there is no study conducted as to the long-term effects of this drug combination when taken over a prolonged time frame.

It also is totally crazy that the average weight loss for the person taking this drug-combination was only 13kg in 22 months (so just over .5kg per month).  You can’t really call these results very rapid which means that this drug combination is not terribly effective in promoting weight loss at all.

There are no short-cuts or medication ‘miracles’ when it comes to losing weight – it takes a sensible approach to eating and lifestyle changes which will lead to effective, sustainable weight loss and this is exactly what The Natural Way offers!  And forget taking dangerous medications to lose weight:  The Natural Way has their own range of natural herbal, vitamin & mineral formulations which are designed to support the body while you lose weight AND they are all side-effect free.  In fact, our formulations will help to balance and restore your body back to good health rather than cause it harm.
