Gavin’s No-Excuse Weight Loss

I am sure all of you have a friend or acquaintance who complains about their weight, yet will tell you in the same breath the reason why they can’t lose it.  You know what I mean:  they will say things to you like:  “I am too busy / too stressed / too tired to lose weight”.  Coming up with an excuse to NOT lose weight means that they are not really committed to doing it.  However, our latest success story probably has a very legitimate excuse to remain overweight, yet overcame his difficult living situation to be over 25kg lighter today than he was at the start of the year!

Meet Gavin Bowen – Gavin has been employed in remote areas of Queensland for the last five (5) years as a DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out) worker.  Gavin works long days, however around every 3 weeks, he travels back home to see his family for some much earned R&R.  When Gavin is working away, he doesn’t have access to buying his own food from a supermarket – rather, he is forced to eat the food provided at the work sites where he is stationed.  You would think that it would be impossible for Gavin to lose weight then?  Absolutely not!
