Kardashian Sisters Weight-Loss Claims Result in Lawsuit

We have spoken about ‘celebrity’ endorsements for weight loss programs in the past, however it seems the Kardashian sisters may have bitten off more than they can chew with the weight loss program they endorse.

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian – you know, the sisters who are famous for absolutely no reason – are celebrity spokesmodels for the ‘Quick Trim’ which is a diet program which supplies products that apparently detoxify the body and promote fast weight loss.  The FDA have since found Quick Trim to contain excessive levels of caffeine, and is not ‘safe or effective for weight loss’.

The Kardashian sisters, photographed here with their mother, are the spokespeople for Quick Trim.

Four dissatisified ‘Quick Trim’ users are now suing the weight loss company, stating that they only started the program due to the claims the Kardashians made.  However, after having little success on the program and hearing the FDA findings, they now allege that the sisters’ statements were bogus and are wanting $5 million in compensation (really?  That seems to be a lot of money for false promises).

The Kardashians are in damage control and have issued their own legal documents to get their names removed from the lawsuit, as they believe they are only spokespeople for Quick Trim and are in no way responsible for any alledged false advertising.  Oh, it’s messy isn’t it?

To me, this really highlights the problems with using celebrities to promote weight loss programs:  they might be really happy to say whatever their sponsor wants them too (after all, a nice pay-cheque is their reward), but do they really have a strong loyalty to the weight loss program they are advertising?  This incident shows the true colours of the Kardashian Sisters:  they are not prepared to stand by the weight loss product they endorse, and now Quick Trim are getting a lot of publicity for all the wrong reasons!

At The Natural Way, we have never used a ‘celebrity’ to advertise our weight loss program:  just normal people like you and I, so you know that REAL people can get REAL results.  Just look at some of our fabulous success stories – remember, these people were not paid to do our program.  They all used their own finances AND motivation to achieve their fantastic results:  http://www.thenaturalway.com.au/inspirationalstories.html

  1. Oh so true – be it Magda Szubanski, Dame Edna, Barry Humphries, Scary Spice, Mel B, The Duchess of pork, oops, sorry, Duchess of York, or any other celebrity. Do they really face the daily challenges ordinary people do? Do they really eat heathily and stand by the weight loss programs they endorse? I guess that as soon as the last sponsorship cheque is banked they are just on to their next hollow celebrity endorsement.

It’s always been like this when endorsing weight loss products. It’s no wonder. They don’t tell you the truth as long as the company pays them. I don’t like using celebrities when endorsing something.
