Celebrating Slimming Success on International Women’s Day

Ladies, today is YOUR day to celebrate.  Today marks the 100th anniversary of International Womens’ Day and, globally, thousands of events are held to inspire women and celebrate their achievements.  On this special day, we too want to recognise five outstanding weight-loss achievements that some of past slimmers’ have achieved.  In fact, the five ladies I am going to introduce to you have all held the title of ‘Slimmer of the Year’ at some point over the past five years AND we need you to help us pick our All-Star Slimmer Champion (more on that later).

Our Toowoomba ladies – Carolyn Pohlner and Barb Burgess – won the Slimmer of the Year title in 2007 and 2008 respectively.  After years of battling her weight, the final straw came when Carolyn’s doctor suggested she get tested for diabetes:  she knew this was one road she didn’t want to go down so joined The Natural Way.  Carolyn lost 19kg and became a brand new woman!  Busy working mum Barb similarly faced health issues if she did not lose her extra kilograms:  her doctor threatened that she would need a knee replacement before she turned 50 if she didn’t lose weight, so Barb decided to get her weight under control and join The Natural Way.  Barb lost just over 25kg and feels ‘so much happier and healthier’.

Wendy Baker and Sonia Kime – from our Rockhampton clinic – are glowing examples of what hard work and dedication can do.  Sonia won Slimmer of Year in 2007 after losing a staggering 48.9kg and 300cm!  WOW!  Our 2009 winner, Wendy, had spent years avoiding the mirror and trying fad diets (unsuccessfully), so decided to try The Natural Way after diagnosis of high blood pressure and cholesterol.  She lost 32.6kg and feels as if ‘I’ve got my life back’.

Finally, we would like to re-introduce you to ‘tiny’ Nusia who was our Slimmer of the Year in 2010.  Nusia, from Hyde Park in South Australia, lost over 54.8kg which was just over half her starting weight!  Nusia is loving her new active lifestyle, which includes Zumba, gym classes and even swimming (though she has to buy a pair of bathers for the first time in over 20 years).

When you add together the total weight loss of these five ladies, they have LOST just over 180kg!

We are currently running an online competition on www.slimmeroftheyear.com  where each one of these lovely ladies is vying for the title of ‘All-Star Slimmer’ Champion….and we need your help to pick the winner.  Take time to vote for your favourite and on April 11th we announce the All-Star Champion.  Best of all, just by voting, you go into the draw to win $500 CASH in our lucky voters’ prize.  So vote today…AND HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY!

It’s always great to see these success stories. All of these slimmers look great, and the health benefits are also so inspiring. How do I choose my Slimmer of the Year ‘star’ – not sure, but I’ll go and read all their success stories and I’m sure I’ll find a winner.

  2. Robyn says:

wow – these ladies are such an inspiration! And to win $500 just for voting….brilliant!
